The Satins
The first Satin rabbit was discovered in 1934, in a litter of Havanas. It was a brand new mutation, nothing like it had been seen before. This breed has a special coat that shines in the light, because the hair shaft is transparent. They are a 6 class commercial breed, weighing 8 1/2- 11lbs at Sr weight. They are primarily used for show, meat, and fur. They are recognized in 11 varieties: black, blue, brokens, californian, chinchilla, chocolate, copper, otter, red, siamese, and white.
